		<description>Thanks for all your posts about the Inauguration.  It&#039;s great to feel it from a DC resident and also to get a first hand POV of all the festivities.  I would have loved to feel that energy and gauge the live responses.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I&#039;ll be looking for the Judd and Whitaker commentaries. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;And &quot;Cheers!&quot; to the end of the Illiterate Presidency.</description>

		<description>Your generosity towards Alexander&#039;s poem is spot on. Though I agree it was a strategic mistake to place her after Obama. From where I was standing (on the mall) people indeed began to disperse after Obama finished his speech. Those who are dedicating serious critique of the poem are, in my view, miss the whole point of the poem&#039;s role in the  ceremony, and seem not to have taken to heart Obama&#039;s call to us. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I&#039;ll just add that before Usher (accompanied by Stevie Wonder) sang at the concert on Sunday, Ashely Judd and Forest Whitaker delivered eloquent remarks on the vital role of the arts in our national life. It was great to hear after these last eight years.</description>
