ooh, Federico GarcÃa Lorca’s “The Collected Poems: A Bilingual Edition” sounds wonderful! must check them out now that i might be able to muddle through them…
the cave, eh? how very plato’s republic. how very st. john of patmos.
i wish you were in the cave too.
*wink*
ms(r) barbara jane: that would make for a very happy panda
The cave.
How very Neanderthal cave painting. How very Batman. How very Tom Hanks in Cast Away.
Pezcsep: The Kashubian-language term for when a person takes an already established funny line and co-opts it for his own use, usually at the expense of the humor.
I know nothing of the cave. And I do believe I should leave it that way. Ahem.
Now, ob, knowing that we share the same affinity for sprawling epics, I must strongly suggest that you go and rent all the episodes of Lost.
For it is epic, my friend. Epic, indeed. (And there are even several episodes where the castaways are forced off the beach to live in…”the caves.”)
ysnyms (adjective describing people who wear raspberry berets on a regular basis)
i am so down to check out LOST though i really want to check out SMALLVILLE first since i have that whole comic geek thing goin on
likewise, i seriously recommend you check out BATTLESTAR GALACTICA since it is so much less about sci-fi and so much more about a nation forced to rely on a fading military after a near apolocalypse (jus think Patriot Act in space)
and to round out the epicness, a line from LEGENDS OF THE FALL
“Some people hear their own inner voices with great clearness and they live by what they hear. Such people become crazy, or they become legends.”
