Ah ok, since we’ve been talking about etymology here: dinosaur is “monstrous lizard” whereas dragon is drákÅn kind of serpent, prob. orig. epithet, the (sharp-)sighted one, akin to dérkesthai to look.
Then again, these are Greek etymologies and I wonder what the Chinese etym.’s are.
